Camp Life

The Pearly Swamp Camp is a real deer hunting camp in Burnett County, in Northern Wisconsin.

This camp, neglected and empty most of the year, becomes a hub of activity as late November approaches, that special time known as deer season.  For a precious few days it then becomes a place free of worry and care, a place to relax and enjoy, a place to become part of nature for a time, then a place to leave, refreshed and renewed, awaiting a day to return.

The Pearly Swamp Camp provides much more to its occupants than just a roof over their heads.  Since its beginning, the camp has provided its hunters with surroundings and an atmosphere beyond compare.

The walls of this camp have shared the stories of good fortune and much success, but have also heard their share of misses and misfortune.  These walls have shook from the gut-wrenching laughter but then dealt with sadness beyond description with the loss of a campmate.

This deer camp, however, is no different than other camps you'll find.  It is symbolic of any good deer camp where ups and downs are part of the season.

Good food, good times, and good people, but most of all good memories.

After all, that's what a real deer camp is all about.
